“The thought of retirement terrifies me, I’ve no idea what I’m going to do and don’t know where to start!”
“I want to discover new life purposes and goals for my retirement life.”
“I love what I do and don’t want to stop working completely. I need to figure out how to do this.”
Successful retirement (however we define it) is not a one-day course or a quick fix. It’s the effective realisation of our life’s work and purpose.
While you may have spent significant time thinking about the financial aspects of retirement planning, many of us have not contemplated the emotional, physical and health-related dimensions to be ready for retirement. All too often we think retirement readiness only has to do with our stock portfolio and other financial retirement benefits.
Retirement is a very personal thing – there are no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approaches. Planning for retirement is even more important today than it has ever been. Retirees are much healthier, much more active and can expect to live much longer – a whole new phase of life and opportunity is opening up. The decision when and how to retire is now in our own hands.
This means that it is extremely important to understand the opportunity that retirement presents for us personally and to remove any concerns we may have in order to help us to decide when we want to retire, or partially retire. Otherwise there is a danger that through inertia we will just continue working and miss the opportunity that retirement presents.
Retirement Transition Coaching
As a Certified Non-Financial Retirement Coach, I understand there is more to retirement than merely building a financial source to enable you to quit working.
I work with individuals and couples in their 50s and early 60s who are looking to plan and prepare for the non-financial and emotional aspects of this transition.
My Retirement Transition Coaching can support you to:
- Clarify work-life goals, value and priorities

An assessment can show where you are well prepared for one thing while not being quite so ready for something else to happen.
When approaching retirement or any change of direction, it requires the same process of self-analysis and consultation as you would go through with a career change.
Retirement doesn’t have to mean the end of working altogether, so this is the time to look at all your options and discover what it is you really want.
The LifeOptions Profile™ is an online assessment which assesses your retirement readiness across 20 lifestyle and attitudinal dimensions in six life arenas:
Career and Work, Health and Wellness, Finance and Insurance, Family and Relationships, Leisure and Social, and Personal Development.
Upon completion of The LifeOptions Profile™, you receive a unique report which indicates areas of preparedness (as compared to others who have taken the assessment) and identifies gaps, providing personal and practical insights on transitioning from your current lifestyle to your new retirement lifestyle.
